OpenVPN For Android Setup Guide
OpenVPN serves as an open-source client which is used to configure VPN on your device. The protocol is extremely reliable, secure and provides speed. OpenVPN is best for countries where censorships and restrictions are high.
This page describes the manual setup of the OpenVPN connection. It requires you to install the OpenVPN for Android app and add the config file manually.
This tutorial was made on Android 4, but it is tested and compatible for all Android versions from 4 to 7 as well.
The application used here contantly gets updated, so the exact menu options and their location may differ from the screenshots of this tutorial. Anyway all the given steps are similar.
Before you start
Download the configuration files in Customer Area.You need WinZIP or WinRAR installed on your Android to unzip the configuration files.
-Download OpenVPN Connect From Android Market
Start by opening the “Play Store” (formerly “Android Market”).
You can find it in “Applications” if you don’t have it on the desktop.
Open the search dialog (by clicking on magnifying glass icon) and input “openvpn”. Find OpenVPN Connect application and install it.

directly as an OpenVPN.apk
Once installed open “OpenVPN Connect” application.
Click “Import” button.
Tap on Menu then tap on “Import”
Tap on “Import profile from SD Card”
Navigate to the downloaded OpenVPN files on your SD Card and Find your configuration .ovpn file and “Select” it.
Enter your VPN username and password. You can find them in the client area on our website, by going to “My VPNS“. Make sure you use your VPN username and password and NOT the client area credentials. Tap on Save and tap on Connect.
VPN connection will be established in few seconds.
